So I showed at San Francisco Fashion Week 2017 a couple of months ago. Everything happened so fast. I was on an airplane, writing down steps I feel I need to take to get back on track with my designing. I’ve been spending a significant amount of time and energy on my day job lately, which apparently has paid off because I got a couple of awards. But I want to focus on my designing. So anyway, I was on an airplane on my way back from a work trip to accept a national award when I pulled out my notebook/journal and wrote down things I think I need to do to get back on track with my designing. I wrote down that I need to get more involved in the local fashion community and I should try to get on the planning committee for fashion week. When I got home from that trip I looked up San Francisco Fashion Week online and found that they were having a committee meeting for current and potential members. I immediately updated my fashion resume and went to the meeting.
To make a long story short: I helped plan some of the events for fashion week and when the opportunity presented itself to show in the Emerging Designers showcase, I pounced on it!! The founder of San Francisco Fashion and Merchants Alliance helped me quickly get models and a fitting scheduled. I showed at the swanky Temple Nightclub in San Francisco and my models strutted down the catwalk to Sheila E.’s The Glamorous Life. I feel like I was in a lucid dream, just making the stuff of my dreams happen. Corny, right? LOL... Anyway, sorry it took so long to update you. Life has been a whirlwind since then.
More later, Lovely! Talk to you soon.
