On Tuesday I took the California Garment Manufacturers License exam at the State building in Oakland.
From the State of California Department of Industrial Relations:
“Every person engaged in the business of garment manufacturing must register with the Labor Commissioner.”
When I applied for the exam I received five or six different packets of information in the mail. Some of the packets were thick and in 6-point font (OMG) and one was clearly marked “Examination Study Materials.” Of course I focused on that. I studied all weekend and then Monday evening after work. Monday night I went online and did a search for other peoples’ experiences with the exam. Through looking at the comments on one of the posts that I found, a couple of people gave me the very helpful hint that there are no questions on the test from the packet labeled “Examination Study Materials.” The questions all come from the other materials.WTF?! You can imagine my shock, anger, and disappointment. I immediately stopped studying that packet and started reading all of that other stuff. It’s a TON of information.
I won’t bore you with all of the details. The bottom line is I studied, I took the test, and I SLAYED it! I got a congratulations letter in the mail on Thursday. Woohoo!!!
This week has been stressful. I know it in my brain and in my belly. Who else gets bubble guts? I know I’m not the only one. But how about this…who else gets bubble guts AFTER the stressful thing is over? That’s what I thought… just me. LOL. On to the next hurdle….
